Dialogue: Wo ist die Apotheke? – Asking the way

Sofia needs a pharmacy and asks Dr. Braun on the street.

Sofia: Entschuldigung, wo ist hier eine Apotheke?
Excuse me, where is a pharmacy around here?

Braun: Eine Apotheke? Die ist nicht weit. Gehen Sie hier geradeaus bis zur Ampel.
A pharmacy? It’s not far. Go straight ahead here to the traffic light.

Sofia: Bis zur Ampel, okay.
To the traffic light, okay.

Braun: An der Ampel biegen Sie links ab. Dann gehen Sie über die Brücke.
At the traffic light turn left. Then cross the bridge.

Sofia: Und dann?
And then?

Braun: Die Apotheke ist auf der rechten Seite, neben der Bäckerei und gegenüber der Kirche.
The pharmacy is on the right, next to the bakery and opposite the church.

Sofia: Vielen Dank! Und wie komme ich danach ins Museum?
Thank you! And how do I get to the museum afterwards?

Braun: Das Museum ist am Marktplatz, direkt hinter dem Rathaus.
The museum is on the market square, right behind the town hall.

Sofia: Super. Herzlichen Dank!
Great. Many thanks!

Braun: Gern geschehen. Gute Besserung!
You’re welcome. Get well soon!

Summary

🇩🇪 Culture tip: In German towns, pharmacies (Apotheke, with a big red A) sell even simple medicine like headache tablets – supermarkets don’t. At night and on Sundays one pharmacy in each area is always open (Notdienst).
